When a group is made, you pick what kind it is. That sets its starting roles and the words GLAR uses:
- Band or music group: chairs and instruments, set lists, songs and pay. Every band made before this choice existed is one of these, and nothing about it changed.
- Sports team: pick the sport and GLAR starts you with its positions (for baseball: pitcher, catcher, infield, outfield; for football: quarterback, running back, receivers, the lines, linebackers, the backfield and kicker; flag football has its own smaller list). Events are games.
- Family or friends: no positions, just people. Events are get-togethers.
- Something else: you name the roles and the words, for a club, a class, a work crew, anything.
To change a team's or group's roles, open its page under Groups. Under the roles heading, write one per line: the name, how many you usually want, and the fewest you can manage with, like Pitcher, 1, 1. Press Save. Polls use those numbers to rank dates. Renaming a role starts it fresh, so pick it again for the people who had the old name.
For Something else, the same page lets you choose the words: what one group, event, person and role are called.
