Parts, chairs, sections and the lead chair

Each player has a Primary instrument, which puts them in a section, and a Usual chair, which is just a name you type.

• Instruments: Alto sax, Tenor sax, Bari sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Piano / guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals, and Crew (not a player).
• Sections: Reeds, Trumpets, Trombones, Rhythm, Vocal, Crew. GLAR sets the section from the instrument.
• Guitar and piano share Piano / guitar. Use the chair name to tell them apart.

The first player listed in a section is its lead chair. Use the ▲ and ▼ arrows on the Roster to change the order. The gig page warns you if a lead chair hasn't said yes.

Can also play lists the other instruments someone covers. When a chair opens up, GLAR suggests players who play that part as their main instrument or as a "can also play".

Crew (sound, roadie, lights) are asked in date polls like the players, because a regular sound person is part of the band. For crew you hire only when you need them, open their record and untick Part of the band: ask them in date polls. All crew show on each gig page and can get a gig offer; theirs says "we'd like you on Sound" instead of naming a chair.
