GLAR exists to bring people together: bands, teams, families, clubs and friends. Building community isn't only something we offer on a web page. We want to put something back into the places where our groups live and play.
A portion of what GLAR earns from groups and advertisers goes into the GLAR Fund. It comes straight from the company: we don't ask for donations, and nothing extra is added to anyone's bill. GLAR's prices are kept low on purpose, so every dollar counts.
Once a year we look at how the year went and decide how much the fund can give. Then we put it to work close to home, on things that help people get together: an instrument for a young player, new bats for a ball team, music stands for a community band, a hand with a neighborhood event.
We choose the projects ourselves, so that the money goes to the projects and not to paperwork. The GLAR Fund is a company giving back. It is not a charity, and gifts to it aren't something we collect or that you can deduct from your taxes.
Our first gifts will be listed here.
